Our domestic removals service is built around one idea: the people moving are more important than the logistics of moving them. Whether you are leaving a three-bedroom semi in Dunstable, a flat in Watford, or a family home in Milton Keynes, we plan each move from a detailed survey so nothing gets guessed on the day.
We cover house moves, flat moves, local relocations and long-distance moves across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and into north-west London. Packing, furniture protection and storage are all available in-house, so you can take as much or as little help as you need.
What is included in our domestic removals service
Every domestic removal we carry out starts with an adviser visiting your home, taking a full inventory and building a written quote around your property, your contents and your moving date. Jobs are planned to fit a typical 8 to 10 hour day, which keeps the day predictable for your family.
The standard package covers:
- Loading and unloading by our trained crew, with care taken at doorways, stairwells and access points throughout.
- House moves of all sizes, from a studio flat in Luton to a five-bedroom detached in St Albans, with the same survey-led approach and the same crew from start to finish.
- Flat removals, including lift bookings, communal entry arrangements and floor-runner protection in shared areas.
- Local removals across our core patch and long-distance removals to any UK destination, with rest-break and second-day plans built in for longer runs.
We do not bolt on extras after the quote is agreed. The price you receive from the survey is the price you pay.
Packing help if you need it
Packing is available on a scale that suits your circumstances. Some customers want us to pack everything; others need help with breakables only. We offer full packing, part packing, and a packing materials supply if you prefer to pack yourself.
Full packing means our team arrives the day before or on moving morning, wraps and boxes every item, labels each box by room, and disposes of the packing materials at the other end if you want them gone. Part packing covers the things that need professional handling: china, glassware, pictures, mirrors and anything fragile or valuable.
We supply all the boxes, tape, bubble wrap and specialist packing materials needed, including book boxes, tea chests and wardrobe cartons. If you want to order materials ahead and pack at your own pace, we can arrange that too. Visit our packing services page for the full range.
Furniture protection during your move
Every domestic removals job we carry out uses protective furniture covers, hallway floor runners, banister wrap and door-frame protectors as standard. Furniture that is too large for doorways or stairwells is carefully dismantled in the room it stands in and reassembled in the new property once it is in position.
This approach matters most in older properties. Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire are full of Victorian terraces, Edwardian semis and period cottages with narrow hallways, tight stair turns and original flooring that cannot be replaced. Getting the protection right at the start of the day is what keeps damage away.
Storage for home moves
Chains break and completion dates shift. Our storage facility at Nimbus Park, Houghton Regis runs individually alarmed units in a range of sizes, with 24-hour access seven days a week and pricing by the cubic foot rather than by the container.
For a home move, this means we can move you out of your property on completion day, load straight into a sealed storage unit, and return your belongings to the new address when your chain clears or your building work is done. Short-term storage from a few days and long-term storage of several months are both available on the same flexible terms.

Frequently asked questions about domestic removals
How far in advance should I book a house removal?
For a straightforward local move, four to six weeks notice is usually enough. For moves in busy periods such as late spring, school summer holidays and September, eight to ten weeks is advisable to secure your preferred date. For long-distance or complex moves, contact us as early as possible so the survey and planning work can begin.
Do you move flats as well as houses?
Yes. Flat removals are part of our standard domestic removals service. We handle lift bookings, communal door codes, parking arrangements and floor-runner protection in shared areas. Let us know the building type and floor when you get in touch so we can plan the access from the start.
Can you help with packing?
Yes. Our packing service ranges from a full pack and unpack, where we handle everything from kitchen cupboards to loft boxes, down to a breakables-only pack covering china, glass, mirrors and valuables. We supply all boxes, tape, bubble wrap and packing materials. You can also order materials from us and pack at your own pace.
Do you offer storage?
Yes. Our storage facility at Nimbus Park, Houghton Regis has individually alarmed units in various sizes, with 24-hour access seven days a week. Storage is priced by the cubic foot, and rentals run from a few days up to several months. It is a practical option when your chain breaks or your renovation overruns.
Do you cover long-distance moves?
Yes. We handle national relocations from our Bedfordshire base and work with international partners for overseas moves. Every long-distance job is planned with the same survey-led approach as a local move, covering access at both ends, route timing, rest breaks and any storage needed in between.
